About Plastering Calculator

Plastering Calculator — Estimate the exact amount of cement bags and sand required for wall plastering depending on your total wall area, plaster thickness, and mix ratio.

How to use the Plastering Calculator

  1. Enter the total wall area to be plastered in square feet or square meters.
  2. Provide the plaster thickness (usually 12mm for internal walls or 20mm for external walls).
  3. Input the cement to sand mix ratio (e.g., 1:4 or 1:6).
  4. Click Calculate to find the total cement bags and sand volume required.

FAQs

What is the standard mix ratio for wall plaster?
For internal wall plastering, a ratio of 1:6 (1 part cement to 6 parts sand) is commonly used. For external walls where more strength and weather resistance is needed, a richer ratio of 1:4 is recommended.
How to calculate cement bags for plastering?
First calculate the dry volume of the mortar required. Then divide that volume based on your mix ratio to find the cubic volume of cement. Finally, divide the cement volume by 1.226 (the cubic feet of a standard 50kg bag) to get the number of bags. Our calculator does all this for you automatically!
